My love for horses began at the age of 3 when I would constantly watch them on the television in London, the best move my parents ever made was moving up to Scotland and into a small village which had more horses than people.  It was at the age of 6 I began riding and by the age of 7 I was lucky enough to own my own pony Badger.  Possibly the naughtiest pony in the village but he taught me a lot.  I was a member of Fife Hunt Pony Club for many years during which I was able to represent the club in grass roots, pony club games and then Interbranch with an amazing horse called Flicka.  Instead of carrying on competing I decided to go to Aberystwyth University to study for  a BSc (Hons) Equine Science and then went on to do an MBA in Business Administration.

After finally coming home I began work as Head Groom with the legendary John Roger and his amazing team of gelderlanders, Larry, Vos, Wam, Regal and Ginger.  It was during this time with John that I not only learnt a lot about the care of horses at competition standard but also about the world of driving.  This job took me all over the UK competing in many county shows and coaching marathons, in 2002 we were crowned champions at Royal Windsor Horse Show and considered by many to be the best team in the world.

From 2009 to present I have been retraining and competing on exracehorses, some owned by Simon Clark.  I had the wonderful pleasure of taking Simons 25 year old ex racer Buzz to the Highland Show and taking his other one Bob round some BE90s.  I have since retrained 4 that came straight of the racecourse Wedgie, Boston, King and Merito.  King is about to embark on an eventing career with his jockey and Merito is hoping to get fit and take part in the Gold Button race next year with Simon.  At the moment I am concentrating on my coaching as I love this side of it, however I do have a wee pony Bubbles who has had a rough start in life and I hope to bring him as much as i can.

I am a registered BHS PT and hold my UKCC Level 2.  I am a Fully Accredited Coach and on the Pony Club database.  I am fully insured and a member of the PVG Scotland group, I also hold my First Aid at Work certificate.  I currently teach for Fife Hunt Pony Club where for the last 3 years I have successfully had teams with junior and senior taking part in Grass Roots and in 2014 I took a Fife Hunt team down to Championships to take part in the NAF Musical Ride competition and hope to do so again in 2015.
